As the government’s growth agenda for the region gears up, a recent conference at Norwich Castle, hosted by Norfolk Museums & Archaeology Service, debated the issues. For a review of this successful event click on the link below.

The conference brought together two strands of work in the current Renaissance East of England programme: the sustainability and growing community agendas. Keynote Speakers

The keynote speakers included: Chris Smith (Lord Smith of Finsbury, Chair of the Environment Agency), Roy Clare CBE (Chief Executive, MLA), Maurice Davies (Deputy Director of the Museums Association), Andrea Stark (Executive Director of Arts Council England, East), Dr Victoria Johnson (New Economics Foundation) and Dr Simon Gerard (Carbon Reduction Project, University of East Anglia).

The addresses covered social, ecconomic and environmental sustainability as well as the challanges and opportunities presented by the growth agenda.
