2008-09 - A Year of Change

On these pages you can find out more about the partners who work together to deliver Renaissance in the East of England. 2008-09 is a transition year for the Renaissance programme for a number of reasons:
  • A strategic review of Renaissance nationally is under way. This will re-focus the national programme’s strategy and priorites. The review panel began work in March and reports in September.
  • MLA is undergoing a major restructure following a significant cut in its operational budget in the last spending review. Plans are still being finalised, but the changes will result in the replacement of MLA’s regional agencies with smaller regional teams. To keep in touch with what’s happening at MLA go to www.mlaeastofengland.org.uk. MLA East of England are working closely with the Hub and other partners to ensure the smooth transfer of programmes, function and certain museum activity to the Hub.
  • A regional Renaissance Board has been established to strengthen the management and financial control of the Renaissance Programme in the East of England. The Board meets quarterly. To read the terms of reference and minutes click on the link on the left. With representatives from MLA East of England, the Hub, the region’s museums and regional stakeholders, the board will have overall responsibility for guiding and monitoring delivery of the programme.
